Iran hangs five rapists in public

27th December 2012 08:57 PM

Five convicted rapists were Thursday hanged publicly in a park in Iran's southwestern city of Yasouj, Xinhua reported.

Four of the convicts had raped a young woman after forcefully taking her away from her fiance, while the fifth man had raped another woman.

All of the executed men were under 30 years of age.

In Iran, criminals involved in drug trafficking, murder, adultery, rape and armed robbery are sentenced to the death penalty.

Very good! It is time we implemented this in our country. It would be a deterrent atleast to some criminals.

Perfect!! This is the kind of punishment that we need to bring in our country for the rapists. In future, no one will dare to even touch another girl. Shame on congress!! and the Delhi police for trying to cover up their a**es.

Iranian government took a right decision in hanging those culprits in public to teach others a lesson who might be contemplating repeating the same mistake. It is very important for the judicial system to enforce severe punishment for this type of heinous crimes. A country can fall if societal problems are not handled at the outset with heavy handed. What happened in India recently - a Delhi gang raped incident - deserves the same treatment. India ought to learn a lesson from the decision of an Iranian government and bring those culprits to books without wasting too much time. Yes, the victim is being treated in Singapore, but the Indian government does not have to wait for her release from the Elizabeth Hospital. This is the right opportunity to quiet the protesters and establish a guideline for the future criminals. Those culprits should be hanged in public without any hesitation. Yes, it sounds cruel, but that is the only way to save the fabric of a civilized society.

I always admire the strength of character of the Iranians. Lets also publicly string the rapists. If only the Iran Govt is a little more tolerant towards its own citizens when it comes to other civil rights issue , it could be back on to its glorious days of the 1st millennium BC.

I'm just a citizen and not an anti congress.Shame on Sheila Dixit,Sonia Gandhi and MMS that they are unable to take and execute decision when the evidence is somuch out in the light.ARE YOU PLANNING TO PUNISH AFTER GETTING WRITTEN STATEMENT FROM VICTIM.And Ghulam Nabi Azad-dont give wrong information to keep the crowd calm, everybody knows tht she is extremely critical and god forbids nothing worst happens. We have such a LAME GOVT,the guilty shd be deported to Iran and shd request Iran to apply local laws and get these guilty to have a barbaric death.
