16 Taliban militants killed in Afghanistan

At least 16 Taliban militants have been killed and eight injured in security operations carried out in different Afghan provinces since Saturday, the country's interior ministry said Sunday.
"Afghan police backed by the army and the NATO-led coalition forces launched 14 cleanup operations in Kabul, Laghman, Faryab, Kandahar, Zabul, Wardak, Ghazni and Helmand provinces, killing 16 armed Taliban and detaining four other suspects over the past 24 hours," Xinhua reported quoting the
ministry.
