NRIs oppose pro-Khalistani activities abroad
Khalistani separatists were rooted out from Punjab after over a decade of terrorism in the 1980s and early 1990s. Some leaders migrated to the US, and UK and other European countries where they continue with pro-Khalistan activities. They run many organizations funded and supported by Pakistan's spy agency, the ISI, to keep the Khalistan movement alive. Khalistani separatists mislead NRI Sikh youth by propagating the ideology of Khalistan and run anti-India propaganda through NRI media with the support of Pakistan. Such activities are condemned by non-resident Indians as it dents their image abroad. In many Sikh and Punjabi dominated areas in the US and UK Khalistanis have established strong political links to carry-out pro-Khalistan activities.
