At least 30 people were killed and five injured, as a state roadways bus plunged into a 600-foot deep george at Ashapuri, 30 kilometres away from Palampur town of Himachal Pradesh. Rescue teams, including army personnel, immediately reached the spot. According to media reports, the accident site was isolated and occurred near a forest. A local said that the situation was so grave that most passengers lost some part of their body, and they were so severely injured that it was difficult to identify them.
