Lawmakers must find way out of disruptive tactics: President
With Parliament's Monsoon Session completely washed out due to an uproar over the 'coalgate' scam, President Pranab Mukherjee, said that lawmakers must find a mechanism to prevent disagreements from disrupting Parliamentary work. Speaking to media persons, Mukherjee said that 'divergences of view' must not prevent constitutional bodies from functioning. However the President refused to predict how the winter session would span out, given the recent turn of events. The Lok Sabha was adjourned for more than three-quarters of the session that started on August 8. The Rajya Sabha worked less than a third of the time allotted to it and the session was further tarnished by a shoving match between two MPs over an affirmative action bill favouring lower castes.
