Dimple Yadav mostly spoke about her relationship with husband Akhilesh, whom she credited with being ‘very understanding’ but hastily added that she is ‘compromising’ wife too.
The first couple of Uttar Pradesh—Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and wife Dimple who was recently elected as an MP—is surely enjoying the power trip. On Tuesday, Akhilesh and Dimple were in the Capital to attend a discussion hosted by the Young FICCI Ladies organization (YFLO) on ‘India Tomorrow —The Future of Indian Politics’.
Dressed in a maroon cotton sari, Dimple was the epitome of confidence as she made her maiden public appearance in front of Delhi’s hoity-toity ladies. She mostly spoke about her relationship with Akhilesh, whom she credited with being ‘very understanding’ but hastily added that she is ‘compromising’ wife too. In her brief speech, Dimple highlighted how she wants Uttar Pradesh to prosper and to be known for its achievements. The CM, however, spoke longer and mentioned how he wants to promote traditional crafts of the state like carpet-weaving, brass-work, Chikankari and blown-glass work. Since he was addressing YFLO, Akhilesh did not miss upon his government’s programme for females and spoke of the Kanya Vidya Dhan scheme for schoolgirls.
The afternoon had Divya Suri Singh, Chairperson of YFLO, Sheetal Ansal, Seema Jajodia, Shabnam Singhal and former model Manpreet Brar.
