Chengam police on Monday arrested another person, Arivu (21) of Melmanamalai, on charges of sexually harassing and abetting a 22-year-old polytechnic student to commit suicide last Monday. Arivu is the fourth person to be arrested and remanded in the case.
The trio divulged that Arivu had also sexually harassed Akila. “We learnt that Arivu had sexually assaulted another schoolgirl while Ezhil had filmed the entire sequence to blackmail her. We have seized the videos from Arivu,” said the police officer.
Police produced Arivu before the Judicial Magistrate Court in Chengam and remanded him under judicial custody in the Vellore Central Prison for Men.
