Teen held for attack on RSS man

An 18-year-old boy was arrested in connection with the recent assault on an RSS functionary Anandan at Mettupalayam, on Wednesday.
On November 6, Anandan was on his way home when he was allegedly assaulted by a group of unidentified persons.
Amidst protests to arrest those responsible for the attacks, the police registered a case and launched a hunt for the miscreants.
On Wednesday, the police arrested a resident of Mahadevapuram, Mettupalayam in connection with the assault.
Police said the accused (name withheld), was arrested a few months ago for sending mischievous SMSes to a few persons and was out on bail.
The eighteen-year-old was produced before a magistrate in the city on Wednesday night and was remanded in judicial custody at the Bostral School at Pollachi.
A hunt is on for more persons suspected to be involved in the assault. Further investigations are on.
