Court summons Vijaykanth in defamation case

A court here today ordered
issue of summons to DMDK chief and Leader of the Opposition in
Tamil Nadu Assembly Vijaykanth to appear before it on December
6 in connection with a defamation case filed against him by
the state government.
Nilgiris District Public Prosecutor Ananthakrishnan
submitted that Vijaykanth during a meeting here on August 22
had made some alleged derogatory remarks against Chief
Minister Jayalalithaa, damaging her reputation.
When the case came up today, District Sessions Judge
Premkumar ordered issuance of summons to Vijaykanth to appear
before him on December 6.
