Another emu farm owner held

Susi Emu Farm owner Sankar (32) of Kasipullapalayam and his manger M Suresh (34) of Thippampalayam, Uthukuli, were arrested by the EOW personnel near Erode railway station on Thursday.

Sankar also ran another firm Rathi Poultry Farm. If one deposited Rs 1.5 lakh, 390 chicks will be given and the grown up birds would be collected once in 3 months.

Incentive and bonus were announced under various schemes. Suresh was the manager of the poultry firm also.

EOW inspector A Soundarrajan said, “police arrested 5 workers of the firm on Wednesday and on Thursday Sankar and Suresh were held near Erode railway station parking lot.

Around 3,827 persons have made deposits to the tune of Rs 9 crore in Susi Emu Farm and at present 361 complaints have been received from the public against the firm.

Seventy complaints have been received against Rathi Poultry Farm involving a deposit of Rs 1.5 crore. They have been taken to TNPID court at Coimbatore and remanded to judicial custody.”

He said steps would be taken to attach the properties of the firm and hold an auction to help depositors to get back their money.
