Congress to launch flagship campaign

The Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) has decided to launch a campaign to enlighten people on the flagship programmes of the UPA at the Centre which, it alleged, are being hijacked by the Naveen Patnaik Government in the State.
This was decided at the first meeting of the Flagship Programme Committee of the OPCC presided over by its chairman Kailash Acharya. It was decided that committees will be constituted to assess the impact of each of the 16 flagship programmes among the people. Committee members maintained that timely payment of cash subsidy to the beneficiaries should be ensured.
OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik, AICC secretary Binay Sorake, OPCC media cell chairman Narsingha Mishra, former ministers KC Lenka, Sitakant Mohapatra and Sarat Kar, former MP SR Patnaik, OPCC vice-president Gurupada Nanda, party spokesman Narendra Mishra and several senior leaders addressed the meeting.
