The six-day Parivartan Padayatra, launched by Congress from Binka in Sonepur district on the occasion of 123rd birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, concluded here commemorating the 95th birth anniversary of  Indira Gandhi on Monday.

Congress leaders resorted to bashing of Chief minister Naveen Patnaik and BJD-led State Government for its “all round failure”.

They were led by OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik, Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh and Sambalpur MP Amarnath Pradhan.

They accused the State Government of being “anti-farmer” and reneging on its promise of free power to farmers.

The leaders said Congress would concede all demands of people if voted to power. They were critical of government for “favouring industries at the cost of agriculture” and demanded Rs 300 bonus besides the minimum support price (MSP) during procurement.

Trying to project Congress as pro-poor and pro-farmers, they charged Naveen with hijacking Centrally sponsored schemes in the State. Focusing on a series of scams, they said there were 30 lakh educated unemployed youths in the State of which 10 lakh are registered with the employment exchanges.
