The possibility of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) plant at Udayamperoor resuming its function strengthened with the visit of the explosive department officials from Kanpur and Security Director from head office in Delhi on Monday.
The plant had been shut down since Monday after the Factories and Boilers Department had suspended the license of the bottling plant in Udayamperoor owing to gas leakage, a few days after the Chala tragedy that claimed many lives.
According to the sources at the plant, the officials from the head office may give permission to restart the functioning of the plant under strict conditions.
They will scrutinize the security problems in the plant, said the sources in the Indian Oil Corporation plant.
