LDF retains Mattannur Muncipality

Opposition Left Democratic Front retained Mattannur muncipality in Kannur district, where polling was held yesterday, by winning 20 of the 34 seats.
The United Democratic Front (UDF) bagged the other 14 seats, official sources said.
In the 2006 elections, LDF had bagged 21 out of a total of 31 seats. Three new seats were created in 2012 elections.
