NOC issue: HC relief to Jeevass school

The High Court on Thursday ordered the state government to lift the objection in issuing an NOC to the Jeevass CMI Central School near here for getting affiliation to the ICSE Board.

A Bench comprising  Justice C N Ramachandran and Justice C K Abdul Rahim issued the order. The judges pointed out that the two reasons laid out against the school for denying the affiliation were more or less baseless. The NOC-issuing authorities had stated that the school had not completed the stipulated  five-year period and that the students had no Adhar numbers. The court said both these reasons would not stand valid to reasons well-founded.

Issuing Adhar cards is simply a government affair, and as the government has not been able to complete the process, the students would need to present their cards only upon obtaining them, the Bench observed.

According to principal Fr Antony Madavanakkad CMI, Jeevass Central School is part of the CMI group, enjoying a remarkable track record of managing reputed educational institutions such as S H College, Thevara, and Rajagiri Educational Institutions for decades.

“In such a situation, passing an observation period of five years on the school was most unfortunate,” said Fr Antony.

Within four years of opening the school, the number of students reached  563, with 70 students in each class, either in one or more divisions. The school gives admissions from class one to four.
