KSU district president Faizal Kulappadam, who has landed in a sex scandal, has been suspended by the state committee which met in Kochi on Saturday.
KSU state president V S Joy said that Faizal was suspended till the inquiry against him is completed and that if proved guilty he will be dismissed.
Iby Ibrahim, 25, of Umayanalloor had alleged that Faizal had cheated her after promising to marry her. Iby, who is on bail after being remanded on charges of threatening Faizal, said that Faizal used his political influence to arrest her. Iby had earlier been remanded in another case for theft from a jewellery and was later charged with cheating money from a temple priest.
Iby said in a complaint filed with the Kottiyam police and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy that she met Faizal in connection with the ‘false accusation’ made against her by the temple priest. Faizal had offered to help her and promised to marry her. She alleged that Faizal had sexually abused her several times. Iby also claimed that she has mobile phone visuals featuring both of them in compromising positions.
The complaint also says that she was trapped into a gold theft case and then was later cheated by a lawyer who was their counsel for the gold theft case. The lawyer had cheated money from the temple priest and escaped from the investigation using his influence.
Faizal had denied the allegations and said that he was acquainted with Iby through a Youth Congress worker and had helped her in the cheating case.
