CPM Panur Area Committee member and the prime accused in the conspiracy to eliminate RMP leader Chandrasekharan, P K Kunjananthan, has reportedly disclosed the involvement of CPM Kannur leaders P Jayarajan and Karayi Rajan in the incident.
However, there is no official confirmation regarding Kunjananthan’s statement.
Sources with the police maintained that the investigation would certainly go beyond local CPM leaders in Kozhikode and Kannur districts. The investigation officials are gathering evidence to ascertain the statements made by Kunjananthan.
According to officials, Kunjananthan had not been cooperating with the officers for the last four days. But when he was interrogated with evidence such as phone call records, he admitted the role of CPM leaders, said sources.
