Nimmi Paul, 22, a nurse working in the Little Flower Hospital, Angamaly, was found dead in a toilet in the hospital early on Thursday. Police suspect it to be a case of suicide.
According to the hospital officials, Nimmy of Varekkalam House, Chengal, Kalady, was on duty on Wednesday night.
“She was missing since 2.30 am and her colleagues went in search of her. Later, they found that the bathroom of the nurses’ room near the operation theatre was locked from inside. When they pushed it open, she was found dead around 3.20 am.
“Two bottles of medicine used for giving anaesthesia and a syringe were also found beside her. Though she was given emergency aid, there was no response,” they said.
Nimmi Paul was married seven months back and her husband Jobbin is working in Qatar. The girl completed her nursing in the Little Flower Hospital.
After conducting post-mortem at Alappuzha Medical College, the body was handed over to the relatives.
