Need to change education system stressed

NCERT former director J S Rajput has called for a change in the education system with an emphasis on developing a direction of purpose making Indians to stay back in the country.
Inaugurating the 30th anniversary of the Bharatheeya Vichara Kendram (BVK) here on Saturday, he said that Indian culture had influenced all the education systems in the world.
“Education should convey the message of universal fraternity. Such an education only will help realise what India is and drive the nation in the direction of prosperity,” he said.
Rajput stressed the need for providing education which could help the people understand the very self of their country. He said that such an education would be the only solution for the new generation facing value erosion.
Delivering the lecture at the inaugural function, BVK director P Parameswaran said that the government stand on Kumaranasan Memorial, Sree Padmanabhaswamy temple and Nalapat House was destroying its sanctity.
BVK president K M Mohandas presided. General secretary K Jayaprasad welcomed the gathering and P Ashok Kumar proposed a vote of thanks.
In the seminar on Environment and Women, Sreekaladevi, Muralivallabhan, J Prameela Devi and C M Joy presented papers.
