06th September 2012 10:27 AM

The High Court on Wednesday dismissed the election petition filed against the JD(S) leader and Srirangapattana MLA Ramesh Bandi Siddana Gowda accusing him for violating election laws.

Justice Nagmohan Das passed this order while allowing the petition filed by the MLA seeking to quash the complaint and dismissed the case filed against him.

Justice Das observed that there is no proper documents to show the violation of election laws. Election Commission had registered a FIR against Gowda and later Gowda filed a petition before the HC seeking to quash the complaint and FIR after a year of the election and this is liable to be dismissed.

One Suresh had filed a complain before the EC against the MLA during the election to Vidhana Soudha in 2008. He alleged that Gowda had given money and liquor to voters and there are irregularities in vote counting.
