Police still in the dark about Tenzin attack

The probe into the Mysore attack has reached nowhere even after 48 hours as police are clueless about the assailants and the motive behind the incident.

The police, on the first day of the incident, said that the investigation has been hampered as the victim is on ventilator and they have not been able to record his statement. They maintained the same statement even on day 3, despite the victim being taken out of the ventilator.

Sources said that though the police got the video footages from the lodge where the incident took place, it failed to provide any clue.

Footages from CCTV were unclear and showed only the movement of people within the lodge and not outside where the incident took place. Earlier, the police suspected the role of a banned outfit. The police are looking at antecedents of the victim and his love affair with a law student in a city college who is from Himachal Pradesh.

“The incident took place a stone’s throw away from the police station. Moreover, on the eve of I-Day, the city was put on high alert, but the alert was not taken seriously,” sources said.
