DNA reports on the hair strands that was found near a defused bomb in the Chinnaswamy stadium confirmed the role of Mohammad Qateel Siddiqui in the 2010 twin blasts, said Police Commissioner B G Jyothiprakash Mirji.
Mirji told reporters here on Friday that the police had collected other things from the spot a day after the blasts on April 17, 2010.
“The reports have matched the details of Siddiqui, who was murdered in Yerawada prison on June 8. Siddiqui planted the bombs near the stadium,” he said.
Five separate cases were registered in Cubbon Park police station.
“A chargesheet is filed in one of the cases. We are preparing the charge-sheet for the remaining four cases,” he said.
