Congress ticket: Time for applications extended

Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president Dr G Parameshwar has extended the last date for submitting the application papers seeking party ticket to contest the upcoming Assembly elections to January 31.
Speaking to reporters here on Friday, Parameshwar said that the decision to extend the last date was taken following the heavy rush by the party’s rank and file to contest the elections on the party platform.
He said many as 2000 applications forms have been issued by the KPCC office and already over 1,500 applications have been submitted by the ticket aspirants.
He said that several senior leaders, sitting MLAs, MLCs, former ministers, social activists, actors and labour union leaders are among those who have preferred to seek the party ticket.
Parameshwar had also filed his papers to the KPCC office to contest the upcoming elections.
