The psychological warfare between the BJP and its breakaway leader B S Yeddyurappa continues. The former CM has convened a meeting of his supporting legislators on Saturday to take a call on whether to continue in the five-month-old Jagadish Shettar government or pull it down. On the other hand, the BJP has dared its former leader to act instead of just making statements.
On Thursday, in Mysore, Yeddyurappa said he will decide on his loyalists continuing in the government in the next two-three days. “There is no second opinion that the administration has collapsed. The continuation of this government is an injustice to the people. I will take a call on whether to continue our support or not.”
Yeddyurappa, who is scheduled to visit Tirupati on Friday, will hold talks with his close aides upon his return, prior to meeting his legislators.
Sources said Yeddyurappa has with him letters signed by 30 BJP MLAs addressed to the Governor saying they have lost confidence in Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar. Once a final decision to come out of the government is taken, these letters will be forwarded to the Raj Bhavan, a KJP leader said. Such a decision will automatically reduce the BJP government to a minority.
“The future of the government looks bleak. We will take a final call after December 20,” a senior KJP functionary said.

Although B S Yeddyurappa had assured that he would in no way endanger the future of the BJP government in the state led by Jagadish Shettar it is now becoming apparent that he will be going back on his words. The Shettar government's days therefore are numbered and the future of the BJP in the state looks bleak.
