Woman gang-raped in Chittoor

In a shocking incident, four miscreants gang-raped a woman in Mallanur village of Kuppam mandal on Saturday evening.
According to the police, the woman identified as Manjula (36), wife of late Sekhar went to a weekly shandy and was returning home in the evening, when one Ranganath of the same village diverted her attention saying that someone was calling her.
Believing him, the woman went to the nearby bushes, where three of Ranganath’s friends were waiting and gang-raped her. Later, the woman went to Kuppam police station and lodged a complaint.
Kuppam CI Rajagopal Reddy registered a case and sent the woman to government area hospital in Kuppam for medical examination.
A man hunt launched to nab the accused.
