The Andhra Joint Action Committee (AJAC) will organise ‘Chalo Nandigama’ on September 14.
As part of the programme, the AJAC will hold a meeting and discuss the plan of action to get separate statehood for Andhra region.
Releasing a poster of ‘Chalo Nandigama’ at a press conference here on Wednesday, AJAC honorary president Vasantha Nageswara Rao said the committee would intensify its agitation demanding separate statehood for Seemandhra region.
The ruling Congress, opposition Telugu Desam, BJP and Left parties should extend their support to the demand for separate Andhra, he said.
The former home minister strongly condemned the remarks made by Union home minister Sushil Kumar Shinde that creation of small states would give a boost to the Naxal movement.
There are many backward areas in Seemandhra.
All-round development of the region can only be achieved through bifurcation of the state, Rao said.
AJAC president Sunkara Krishna Murthy, leaders GV Rama Prasad and N Satyanarayana were also present.
