Red sanders worth Rs 50 lakh seized

Forest officials seized red sanders worth `50 lakh in Rudravaram forest division of Kurnool district on Monday while it was being smuggled to Tamil Nadu. On a tip off that red sanders were being smuggled in a mini-lorry, forest officials led by section officer Srinivasulu, intercepted the vehicle on the outskirts of Bachapuram village. However, the smugglers managed to escape.
The forest officials aunched a search for the smugglers.
