Mild tension prevailed in Owk mandal headquarters in Banagapalle constituency on Friday when followers of MLA Katasani Ramireddy and former MLA Challa Ramakrishna Reddy clashed during voter enrolment for the upcoming cooperative societies’ polls.

Two persons were injured in the clash. Police picketing has been arranged in the town to prevent further trouble.

Although both leaders belong to the Congress, supporters of both leaders competed with each other to get enrolled as voters for the polls as Friday is the last day for enrolment.

On information, police, led by Dhone DSP Tirumaleswara Reddy, reached the place and calmed down the groups.
