Panchayat raj minister K Jana Reddy had to face the ire of his own partymen in his native Nalgonda district over Telangana issue on Monday.
When the minister was proceeding to garland the statue of Indira at Panagal, some of the party workers obstructed Jana demanding his resignation in support of a T-state. They did not allow the minister to garland Indira’s statue. Taken aback by this, Jana went back to his residence without garlanding the statue.
Komatireddy Threatens to Quit
Meanwhile, former minister from Nalgonda district Komatireddy Venkat Reddy threatened to quit the Congress if the party leadership did not accord statehood to his region by December 9. He claimed that some legislators from the Congress would also follow him.
Incidentally, Komatireddy issued this warning to his party leadership a day after his brother and MP Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy made an announcement on Sunday that he would go to the extent of quitting the Congress if his party high command did not accord statehood to his region.
Amid speculations that Komatireddy brothers are planning to board YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s ship, Venkat Reddy on Monday showered praises on the YSRC leadership.
