Five crore attire for goddess Padmavati

Goddess Padmavathi received a costliest donation ever made in the temple history in the form of Rs 5 crore worth specially designed golden garment studded with precious stones.

Chairman and managing director of Transstroy India Private Limited, Hyderabad, Cherukuri Sridhar offered this donation to the goddess on Saturday.

Describing the donation as the mightiest ever in the history of the temple, TTD executive officer LV Subramanyam complimented the donor for his grand offering. He said this precious gift will be adorned to the goddess on her birthday on Panchami on Sunday.

The garment  approximately weighs about 9.6 kilos and costs about Rs 4.33 crore. This specially designed garment was prepared by expert artisans in Mumbai which took them almost four months.

The diamonds and precious stones including rubies, emeralds, pearls studded in this cloak weigh about 70 carats.

Earlier, the golden garment was brought in a procession from Pasupumandapam to Tiruchanur temple.

Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao, Tirupati JEO P Venkatrami Reddy, temple deputy EO Gopala Krishna, AEO Venugopal and other were present.
