Saritha’s body to arrive today

The body of Munagala Saritha (26), who committed suicide in  the USA, will be arriving at her native place in Buchireddpalem on Friday.

Saritha’s close relative, Gurumurthy said that with the help of local officials, TANA members prevented the funeral arranged there by Saritha’s husband, Sudhir Reddy, a software engineer. They persuaded him to send the body for the last rites to her native place on Saritha’s father Srinivasulu Reddy’s request.

Gurumurthy urged the Indian government to take steps for registering a case against Sudhir, whom he held responisble for Saritha’s suicide and transfer the case to the state for prosecution and punishment of the accused.

Saritha, an engineering post graduate from the district, married Sudhir only last year October 4. She took the extreme step to end her life after coming to know about the alleged illicit affair of her husband after she joined him in the US.

Family sources said that Sudhir developed a relation with a local woman, to get a green card and settle in the US.
