Anand slips to 7th; Humpy jumps to 2nd in rankings

World champion Viswanathan Anand (with a rating of 2780) slipped from sixth to seventh spot in the October FIDE rating list. Magnus Carlsen (2843) remained on top.
Levon Aronian gained five points to stay second. Vladmir Kramnik, Teimour Radjabov and Hikaru Nakamura completed the top five line-up.
Sergei Karjakin jumped to sixth spot which resulted in Anand dropping one spot even though he has not played any tournament in the period considered for the rating since retaining his world title.
In the women’s rankings, Judit Polgar (2705) of Hungary stayed on top. India’s Koneru Humpy (2607) gained 14 points to jump to 2nd spot. World champion Hou Yifan (2605) dropped to third.
