  • Q: Is there something more to Nitish quitting NDA and wishing to join Congress bandwagon a la Lallu?
A: Nitish perhaps thinks that if he is with either federal front of Third front, he has better chances of becoming the Prime Minister than if he stays in the NDA.

  • Q: Is CBI moving towards Man Mohan Singh for Coalgate and Modi for encounter case at the same time? Is that the Congress's game plan to dump MMS and target Modi? So that nobody can question CBI is caged-parrot anymore?
A: Both the cases are being monitored closely by the Supreme Court. We should trust our judiciary which will ensure fair justice based on law and facts.

  • Q: What is the chance of getting good government in general election 2014?
A: It is difficult to define a good government in a coalition politics. It will depend on the nature of coalition and image of the leader who leads the government. I don’t see any possibility of a better government than what we have got now.

  • Q: Was Advani's resignation a mere drama as he withdrew the same nonchalantly after persuasion by RSS? Was it required and will it not damage his own and BJP's image in the election year? By these developments Congress may recoup itself despite legion of scams one after the other in regular succession.
A: Advani's resignation wasn't a drama. It reflected his agony with the growing personality cult in the party. It has damaged the electoral prospects of the BJP but such a shock was necessary. With RSS underwriting the truce and ensuring restoration of collective responsibility in the party Advani will be able to play some important role. He has already started taking interest in national politics as Chairman of the NDA.

  • Q: I believe that on account of lack of unity among regional parties, Federal or Third front will be a big disaster. Although NDA is hoping to get a majority with new alliances, one possibility is that the Congress may still be the party to win the largest number but other parties in UPA may not win as many as to enable UPA form a government. What would happen then is my question.
A: Please study regional politics more deeply. How will the NDA with just two smaller allies like Akali Dal and shiv Sena win more seats? BJP is isolated as none of the new parties are willing to join it. Caste and community considerations still play an important role in elections. With both the BJP and the Congress losing credibility, regional parties will gain more seats if they choose the right national party as their allies in their own states.
