  • Q: CPI leader D Raja commented against Modi advising him not to comment against Indian Govt. on foreign ground. He said, "We all have problems with the central government on the national stage against the Centre, but Modi should not comment on foreign ground." Normally, even opposition leaders while on a foreign trip, never complain against the ruling party's problems. While speaking to USA NRI, why should Mr. Modi elaborate on UPA problems as if they are not aware of these?
A: Most of the Indian leaders including from the UPA do speak about domestic politics during their interaction with the NRIs. But they refrain from talking about internal matters while attending any meeting attended by the foreigners. A number of NRIs are Indian citizens as well.

  • Q: How can we get clean politics in India? What are the steps practically? Can't Aam Admi Party come to power?
A: Only way to get a clean government is to vote for clean candidates of each party. Aam Admi party will have to travel many more miles before it can have any meaningful impact on Indian politics. But it is on the right track.

  • Q: Since the AG has been proved to have lied to the court, why is it that the Supreme Court has chosen to be silent on the matter? Why has not the SC taken cognisance of the 'disclosures' in Raval's resignation letter and asked for clarifications? Why is it that the electronic/print media are not ferociously tearing into this issue as they are known to do? There may have been a rare editorial or commentary on this but the usual shrill din is missing. Why?
A: There is no such comment about the AG. It is all media speculation. None of us can dictate the SC to decide any matter in a particular fashion.

  • Q: In spite of various scams to its record, how was the Congress able to get absolute majority in Karnataka. Are voters insensitive to corruption?
A: Voters of Karnataka felt that the local BJP government was much more corrupt than the local Congress who were voted into power.

  • Q: Will there be any change in Pakistan's politics and its relations with India as a consequence of Nawaz Sharif's victory in general elections in Pakistan?
A: I don't expect any significant changes. Nawaz will have to deal with internal issues first and satisfy the fundamentalists and the ISI.
