The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) sent summons to Manoj Jayaswal Tuesday in connection with coal block allocations and questioned his brother Arvind Jayaswal for the second consecutive day.
"Arvind Jayaswal, who was questioned for nearly eight hours yesterday (Monday) in CBI headquarters here, is being questioned even today (Tuesday) for his alleged misrepresentation and concealing of facts by his company AMR Iron and Steel Pvt. Ltd. for getting Bander coal block in Maharashtra in 2008," a CBI official said.
Manoj Jayaswal is one of the directors of the company and has been named by the CBI in its FIR against AMR Iron and Steel Pvt. Ltd.
The investigative agency is likely to call other directors of the company, including Devendra Darda, son of Congress MP Vijay Darda. Devendra is also an accused in the case.
In a recent report, the government's auditor Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) has stated that private players had windfall gains worth Rs.1.86 lakh crore in the 142 coal blocks allocated to them.
