Shailesh Gupta elected as ABC Chairman

Shailesh Gupta, Director-Marketing of Jagran Prakashan Limited, was unanimously elected as Chairman of Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for the year 2012-2013 recently.

Syed Mahmood Ahmad, Executive Vice President (Marketing), ITC Limited, was unanimously elected as ABC Deputy Chairman.

Other members on the ABC’s Council of Management from the publishers’ side are M Venkatesh of Hindustan Media Ventures Ltd, Amit Mathew of Malayala Manorama Co Ltd, Aritra Sarkar of ABP Pvt Ltd, I Venkat of Ushodaya Enterprises Ltd, Hormusji N Cama of The Bombay Samachar Pvt Ltd, Devendra V Darda of Lokmat Media Pvt Ltd and Sanjeev Vohra of Bennett, Coleman&Co Ltd.

Apart from Syed Mahmood Ahmad, the representatives of advertisers in the council are Ravi Pisharody of Tata Motors Ltd, Debabrata Mukherjee of Coca Cola India Pvt Ltd and Anil Dua of Hero MotoCorp Ltd.

Representatives of advertising agencies include Universal McCann Erickson (India) Pvt Ltd’s Shashidhar Sinha, who has been elected as Honorary Secretary of the ABC. Madhukar Kamath of Mudra Communications Pvt Ltd is the Honorary Treasurer. Vikram Sakhuja of Group M Media India Pvt

Ltd and Srinivasan K Swamy of R K Swamy BBDO Pvt Ltd are the other agency representatives.Hormuzd Masani is the ABC Secretary General.
