A radio kept in an abandoned bag
close to the Assam secretariat here created bomb scare among
people but explosive experts, after examining, declared it
harmless, police said.
The bag with the radio was found lying at a road
outside Bhrigu Market in the busy Ganeshguri area, following
which the police cordoned off the area, they said.
Bomb experts rushed to the spot and after examination,
it was found harmless.
The area, barely half-a-kilometre from the state
secretariat, had witnessed blast during the serial explosions
that rocked the state on October 30, 2008 in which over 100
people died.
