External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid today backed Home Minister Sushilkumar Shinde's statement on "Hindu terrorism" saying it was based "entirely on facts" made available by investigative agencies.
He, however, said that terror has no religion and colour.
"Let me just say this to you very clearly that our stated position, that is shared fully by the Home Minister and past Home Minister, is based entirely on facts as the investigative agencies have made available to the government," Khurshid told reporters here.
Unfazed by BJP's demand for sacking Shinde for his statement, Khurshid said "The attempt to divert attention and to push it in a particular pre-meditated direction by some people was obviously repudiated by the information that was available with the Home Ministry and that is the context in which all these statements are made".
Shinde had earlier this week stoked a controversy by accusing BJP and RSS of conducting terror training camps and promoting "Hindu terrorism".
Defending Shinde, Khurshid said one should not be looking at finer notions of what should be and can be said at any given time.
"I think core understanding is that there are elements who want to use some cover of pretence and some cover of allegation against other groups to continue on their nefarious and unwholesome activities," he said when asked about Mumbai attacks mastermind Hafiz Saeed and LeT trying to exploit Shinde's statement.
Khurshid underlined that any form of violence that is propagated by extremists of any kind, irrespective of religion is what is dangerous for India.
"Terror does not have religion. We have said this very clearly. And religion should not be associated with colour.
This we have said very clearly. It is terror that we have to fight. Terror directed against India that we are fighting".
He said those are the facts available to the Home Ministry on which the government have been consistently making the statement.
"I think we should not be distracted by a phrase here or there frankly. The intention, the commitment, the determination is what clearly matters," he said.

will Khurshid tell who massacred and ethnic cleanssed hindus in Kashmir? will Khurshid tell who massacred 4000 sikhs in Delhi in 1984. will Khurshid talk about the genocide of hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh. Ambedkar insisted on exchange of population at the time of partition. Gandhi vetoed it and now we are paying the price - see the utterances of Khurshid. Why not Khurshid migrate to Pakistan or Bangladesh?

u r a bitter fanatic and an anti muslim; u r trying to cheat the readers by claiming of the fate of kashmiri pundits;In the same kashmir valley thousands of muslims made homelss,massacred and thousands are raped and humiliated during the time of fanatic Jagmohan as governor, who was man of fascism;so it s all there;you r talking about Ambedkar whose slogan was my community is bigger than my nation.India is the land of all who belongs to her;u r the fellow who might have tresspassed bharath through khyber.

If according to Shri Kurshid Terror does not have religion then why HM is prefacing terror with a particular religion?Was it appropriate to refer in a chintan shivir? He is country's home minister and not only that of Congress Party. He has done immence damage to our fight against terrorism.

It is necessary for India that Hindus unite. If terror only can unit them let be it. Hindus are the protectors of India. Just imagine that there is a war between India and Rome and the Pope says that Christians should not fight Rome what will the Indian Christians do? I put this question on a Christian friend and he could not answer. He did not say that he will fight for India. Hindus are necessary to save this nation and its culture. The Congress and DMK men do not have a culture. They abuse their own country and its culture to win votes. He who abuse their own country and culture are traitors of their nation.

I wish to ask the same question;if a pakistani muslim citizen puts the same question on a pakistani hindu how he will react?If an italian hindu citizen being asked similar question what will be the reaction?these kinds of cheap thinkings should not be raised.patriotism is one of our privilege;one should not suspect it on the grounds of faith.

abdulcader is off the mark. simply, he is stating thousands of muslims murdered by Jaganmohan. What a story. 4 lac pandits are refugees in their own home land. there is no muslim refugee from kashmir, in Delhi camps. genocide of hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh is swept under the carpet because of vote bank politics. Bangladesh human rights commission had acknowledged that 35 million hindus are missing. Will abdulcader tell, what is the condition of hindus in Pakistan and Bangladesh? 3 books re avilable on the genocide of hindus in Bangladesh. what is the religious freedom for hindus in muslim countries?

If JJaganmohan has committed any wrong, let Omar, Farook,Sonia order an enquiry and punish him. Kashmir is ruled by father and son duo only. Let them order an immediate enquiry against Jaganmohan
