Three of the six accused in Delhi gangrape case today again refused to undergo test identification parade, with two of them telling a court here that they committed a heinous crime and deserved to be hanged even as they were remanded in 14 days' judicial custody.
Amid a wave of protests against the incident, the lawyers' body at Saket district courts here passed a resolution urging advocates not to represent any accused in the case as the offence committed allegedly by them was "inhuman and barbaric".
Around 300 protesters, who also reached the court premises in south Delhi, were not allowed inside by the security personnel.
Accused Pawan Gupta and Vinay were sent to Tihar jail till January 6 by Metropolitan Magistrate Pawan Kumar along with Ram Singh the bus driver, after the police submitted that as of now, their further custodial interrogation was not required.
The three accused categorically refused again to undergo the test identification parade (TIP) by the male friend of the gang-rape victim inside the prison.
"'Hum dono TIP nahi karwana chahte hain kyonki hum logon ne bahut ganda kam kiya hai isliye hamen phansi par latka do' (We do not want to undergo the TIP as we have committed a very heinous offence and for this we should be hanged)," Pawan and Vinay told the Magistrate.
The court then asked the three accused to come inside his chamber to record their denials to undergo the TIP.
Meanwhile, Akshay Thakur, a co-accused who has been arrested from Aurangabad district in Bihar, was remanded in judicial custody last night and he will undergo the TIP on December 26 inside Tihar jain as he had given his consent in this regard.
Mukesh, another accused and brother of Ram Singh, has already been identified in the TIP as one of the culprits by the male friend of the victim.
However, the proceedings relating to the sixth accused are being undertaken separately before the Juvenile Justice Board as he is a minor.
Both the victims, a 23-year-old paramedical student and her male friend, who had boarded the chartered bus with tinted glass windows from Munirka here to Palam around 9.45 PM on last Sunday night, were assaulted with an iron rod by the men after the two resisted before they were dumped on the road side near Mahipalpur flyover, police said.
Earlier, the court had asked the police to move a fresh application for recording the confessional statements of some of the accused persons saying that "what they have said in court is not on oath".
All the accused are facing charges under sections 365 (kidnapping or abducting), 376 (2)(g) (gang rape), 377 (unnatural offences), 394 (hurting in committing robbery) and 34 (common intention) of the IPC.

the lawyers' body at Saket district courts. Good decision. But the recent article in a newspaper tells in what all ways the lawyers ask ugly questions to the rape victim to make her feel ashamed and collapse. The lawyers should take the same stand for all rape victims.

Can somebody please explain to me how the average citizen can expect the police force to protect them when they are all deployed to protect the VIPs and their kith and kin? I ask this over and above the fundamental problem that police and the culprits are hand in glove. Rape and violence is an everyday affair in India and the criminals get away with it with absolute impunity. Things have to change. The only way to do it would be to cast your vote against the people you have entrusted to run the govt. Try it any other way, it won't work. A caution - when the public is outraged, the govt. will invariably loosen the pressure valve only a tad, enough to let the pressure escape and then it's is back to the business of being utterly callous and incompetence. Disgusted.

Totally agreed Bijoux. This PM Manmohan has been a FM for many years, PM for 8 years, this party has been in power for 60 years, Sonia has been the most powerful women for many years, Sheila Dixit in power in Delhi for 10 years and still the are passing the buck and blame. Time to kick them out. We have believed them for a long long time. This government deploys police to protect PM Manmohan, Sonia, Son in law Robert, Raoul, Priyanka, with SPG, many others with ZZZ category and then they claim that they are clean and servants of people who elected them. As disgusted with this PM who will go down in the history of India as the biggest let down. Even Gujral and Gowda are better than him. It is less about looting. It is the shameless of this Sardar who continue to behave clean but is the dirtiest man inside nothing but a poodle (kutta) of Sonia.

Why are criminals allowed to take advantage of TIP, which is a big mistake on the part of Indian lawyers? Instead of hanging these criminals they are given the opportunity to deny identification parade. It is a shame. PM is useless; in fact the entire Congress Party is useless. All it does it earn money by corrupt means. How our country is still running, only helpless GOD knows. I would urge the entire lawyers populace of India not to represent these criminals. They should be in fact handed over to the public for punishment. It would be the nicest gift to the girl and the boy who suffered. Otherwise, public memory in India is very short and soon everybody will get busy with their work and forget this incident just like any other incidents because our country just do not have courage to amend laws .

Shame is synonymous with our politicians. For them their chair and family are important.Rapes will continue under their nose and they will never raise eye brows since some their cronies would be involved.People should not let this opportunity go and have laws for women protection in place lest the fate this agitation would be of Jan Lokpal.Politicians are contemptuous creatures who like to blow the things and then bend it to their advantage.Innocent ( but foolish) Indians think soon Ram Rajya would be ushered in by these political Ravanas.

What is so special about one gangrape for less than one hour. The entire country is getting gangraped by our corrupt politicians and rich people 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
