In a shocking incident a photojournalist from a Mumbai magazine was allegedly gang-raped in Mahalaxmi on Thursday evening. The incident took place at around 8 pm inside Shakti Mills compound in Lower Parel area when the 23-year-old woman, was on an assignment, doing a story on 'chawl', police said.
According to police officials the victim had gone with a male friend to the Shakti Mill compound for a photo shoot. Three to four boys came to the spot and separated the boy from the girl. The boys told the girl that she would need permission to click photographs and then they took her within the compound and raped her.
The victim has been admitted to Jaslok Hospital. After the hospital authorities called up the police, a team from the NM Joshi Marg station went to the hospital to record the statement of the girl.

Police claimed the victim has identified two of the accused by their names. The girl told police that two of them were calling each other as Rupesh and Sajid, they said.
