The first ever mobile phone was manufactured by Motorola. Times have changed, and companies like Nokia, Apple, HTC have stolen its thunder. The man tasked with bringing back Motorola from the dead is Sanjay Jha. Sanjay is the Chairman and CEO of Motorola Mobility. Born in Sultanganj, Bihar, he did his bachelor in engineering from the University of Liverpool. After finishing his PhD from University of Strathclyde, Scotland, he joined the telecommunications major Qualcomm as a senior engineer and grew to be it’s Chief Operating Officer. When at Qualcomm, Fortune magazine called him a tech-superstar because of his pioneering work in developing CDMA technologies. When Motorola was looking for a dynamic CEO who could pull it out of its coma, it found a true leader in Jha. With Motorola Xoom, and Droid phones, Jha started a fight back and plans to make Motorola a market leader again.
