If you have a smartphone or a Tablet computer that is fast and powerful, chances are Raj Talluri is the guy who made it fast and powerful. That is because, as the Senior Vice President of Product Management at Qualcomm, one of the world’s biggest chipmakers, Raj is in charge of the Snapdragon family of mobile phone chips and is responsible for managing the company’s application processor technologies and wired connectivity solutions for chipset platforms.
Raj has a bachelor’s degree in Engineering from Andhra University and a master’s degree from the Anna University in Chennai. After getting himself a Ph.D in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas in Austin, Raj started his career at Texas Instruments. There, along with working on several digital consumer electronics and wireless technology businesses, he also served as a general manager of the Imaging and Audio business, in which position he led many successful digital signal processing technology projects which were later incorporated in consumer electronic devices. Later, as a general manager of Cellular Media Solutions, he successfully launched OMAP application processor platforms for smartphones. Now at Qualcomm CDMA technologies, Raj is overseeing the successful implementation and launch of next-generation mobile chips, like the Snapdragon 800 and 600.
Raj has 13 US patents and around 35 articles, papers and book chapters in leading electrical engineering publications to his name.
