Mysore Palace: Celebrating a Century 2012 is the theme of a journal published by Ramsons Kala Pratishtana, a family firm of a self-made history buff, R G Singh. In it, he presents 85 rare photographs and paintings providing a rare insight into the different stages of construction of the monument, which was completed in 1912 at an estimated cost of `41 lakh as a tribute to Wodeyars of Mysore, under whose regime it was constructed. The earlier palace was ravaged by fire in 1897 and the present structure, designed by British architect, Henry Irwin, is one of the most-visited monuments  in the country.

Mysore Palace is the most beautiful building in South India, apart from most visited royal home of the Wadiyars. Hanumanthaiya tried to overshadow it with Bangalore's Vidhana Soudha but failed. It's the crowing pride of Karnataka and an equal booster peoples pride having the historical royal family.
