Giaa Manek quit her popular show "Saath Nibhana Saathiya" for "Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa", but couldn't reach the top five in the dance reality show. Never mind, as she has got an opportunity to charm her fans with her magical tricks as Jeannie in "Jeannie Aur Juju".
Known for playing subservient daughter-in-law Gopi Bahu in "Saath Nibhana Saathiya", Giaa was voted out of the dance reality show "Jhalak Dikhla Jaa 5".
In "Jeannie Aur Juju", an Indian adaptation of popular American show "I Dream of Jeannie", Giaa has shed the traditional look and will be seen in harem pants and shimmering outfits.
In the show, Jeannie, who has been caught in a bottle for 2000 years, tries to charm her saviour and the love of her life, Vicky, played by actor Ali Asgar on Sab TV.
Anooj Kapoor, Executive Vice President and Business Head, SAB TV, hopes Giaa's presence attracts viewers.
"With Giaa in the show, we're sure to attract a huge audience to watch the show as she has a big fan following. Giaa's innocence works for the character and Ali's experience will enhance the show even further," Kapoor said in a statement.
"The show is unique as it will have special effects and tricks that Jeannie performs. It is an uncommon genre on Indian television and the audience will surely enjoy the novelty we are providing them," he added.
The show will stick mostly to the original content and story of "I Dream...", originally created and produced by legendary author Sidney Sheldon.
