A still from Karuppampatti
It is usual practice for a director to complete shoot for a movie and then give it to an editor to arrange the sequences. But for the film 'Karuppampatti', work seems to have happened in the reverse order. When debutant director Prabu Raja Cholan approached editor Lenin to sign him for the project, the latter seems to have asked for the bound movie script. He is said to have asked Prabu to remove a few sequences that won’t make it to the final cut of the film, as they were unnecessary.
The director revealed it at the launch of the film’s audio, held on Thursday. He acknowledged that Lenin’s snip judgement helped him and the producer Sundar to not waste time and money respectively.
Prabu Raja Cholan has worked as director Shankar’s associate. Karuppampatti has Ajmal and a newcomer Aparna Bajpai in the lead. Music has been scored by Kannan.
Tamil Film Producers’ Council president S A Chandrasekaran was the chief guest. Present at the event were director Balaji Sakthivel and crew of the film.
