The Kadhal actor reveals how excited he is about his next flick 555, which is an action entertainer | EPS
In his very first film Kadhal, he was hailed for his performance, establishing himself as an actor to look out for in the industry. Now, several films later, Bharath is convinced that 555, his next movie directed by Sasi, will showcase his acting skills yet again. The stylish posters of the film have been creating waves in tinseltown.
City Express decided to catch up with him to find out what the buzz was all about. Currently shooting in Ooty for the same film, Bharath’s excitement bubbles over, “We’ve completed 85 per cent of the shoot. We’ll be going to Rajasthan next.” From Ooty to Rajasthan? We quiz about the varying locations and he laughs, “See, that’s what the film is all about. There will be different angles cropping up all through. Sasi has worked on the script for two-and-half years to get it right. The screenplay is the most remarkable aspect of this film! Sasi ties a knot every few minutes and then unravels it the next minute!”
One can sense his excitement when says he stopped signing other projects during the making of 555. “I believe in this script completely. I realised that people wanted to see me in more performance-oriented roles like Pattiyal and Veyil. That’s why I am super excited to do 555, which gives me ample scope to perform. In fact there are two Bharaths in the film. You’ll see me undergoing a complete transformation. One is a software engineer while the other is, well, a secret!” he laughs delightedly.
Ask him about the six-pack he was working with for eight months and he reveals, “555 is an action entertainer. So I convinced the director to let me try a new look with the six packs. At first he was skeptical. But when he saw how I had worked on my physical transformation in 3 months, he was convinced that it would definitely add to the credibility of the character.” For the next five months, Bharath further worked on his body with the help of World Gym’s Siva. “I couldn’t have done it without Siva. His dedication was amazing. Mornings and afternoon he would train Arjun and Gautham Karthik for Kadal and from 9 pm to 11 pm he would train me, before going home exhausted!”
Bharath promises that the film will have several entertaining elements, including showcasing a side of Santhanam that’s not been seen before. “This is my 6th film with Santhanam, but his role is not the clichéd one. He’s like a character artiste in 555 with a mix of comedy and performance.”
Bharath sums up, “555 has been a refreshing experience and a whole new genre for me.” The strain he’s put himself through shows how much he believes in the film. We hope that excitement is justifiably passed onto viewers as well!
