Dhanush himself appears to be keen to work with the Kalavani and Vaagai Sooda Va director, as the latter fetched him the national award and catapulted him to national fame.
After unforseen delays, courtesy filming and injury, Dhanush has confirmed that he will begin shooting for director Sarkunam’s Sotta Vazhakutty from the second week of February. Work on the film was originally supposed to begin last September, but Dhanush’s shooting schedule – his Bollywood debut with Raanhjnaa and Bharat Bala’s Mariyaan – kept him occupied till last week. Dhanush himself appears to be keen to work with the Kalavani and Vaagai Sooda Va director, as the latter fetched him the national award and catapulted him to national fame, “It will be an out and out commercial entertainer,” said an excited Dhanush before adding, “I can’t wait to do some comedy!”
Reports have emerged that Hansika Motwani has signed to play the heroine in the film, though confirmation from the makers is pending. This will be the second time that these two will share screen space after Mapillai. And though there hasn’t been any word about who’s doing the music, Dhanush dropped a hint that it might be Anirudh Ravichander, when he tweeted a few days ago that he was “jamming for a new film”, with the young composer.
Undoubtedly, 2013 is going to be a big year for Dhanush. Having completed Bharat Bala’s Mariyaan in the last week of December, he is almost done with Raanjhnaa.
