The list of cinematographers turned directors is getting longer day by day. After K V Anand and Ravi K Chandran, the latest to join the bandwagon is S D Vijay Milton.
The cinematographer, whose work in Kaadhal and Vazhakku Enn 18/9 were talked about, is getting ready to start shooting for his first directorial venture from November. Apart from direction, Vijay Milton is also donning cinematographer and producer caps for this film, in which the four boys of director Pandiraj’s 'Pasanga' (2009) - Kishore, Jeeva, Pakada Pandi and Kuttymani - are playing the lead roles.
That doesn’t seem to be the only connect with the National Award winning film. “I wanted to direct an action flick for a long time that deals with boys who have just entered adulthood. I met Pandiraj sir to discuss it and his contribution to framing the final version of the story is immense. He only suggested that I repeat the Pasanga cast in this film and I found them suitable for the story as well. Pandiraj sir is also penning dialogues for the film,” he said. It may be noted that Pandiraj was already offered to pen dialogues in Suseenthiran’s upcoming flick 'Aadhalaal Kaadhal Seivee'r, but it didn’t materialise as the former had to begin his next project, 'Kedi Billa Killadi Ranga'.
Vijay Milton’s project has tentatively been titled Pasanga Part 2, though this is not a sequel. “Koyambedu market will be the backdrop of the film and other details are yet to be finalised,” he said.
