‘Shutter' to premiere at DIFF

Shutter’ will be the first Malayalam film to have its premiere at the prestigious Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF). The film written and directed by Joy Mathew is being screened in the category - ‘Cross section of Indian films’, in 9th edition of the festival to be held from December 9 to 16.
‘Shutter’ is the directorial debut of Joy Mathew. It is also one of the two Malayalam films included in the competition section of the 17th International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK).
‘Shutter’, is a moral suspense thriller and according to the filmmaker it is ‘poetical violence on celluloid’. The film revolves around the mess created by three men - NRK Rasheed, film director Manoharan and auto driver Suran - after they meet a strange woman in bizarre circumstance. The regional flavour of Kozhikode forms the highlight of the film which captures the events that happen in 48 hours.
Lal and Sreenivasan are playing the lead characters. 50 actors including Sajitha Madathil and Vinay Fort are part of this 133- minute film. Bollywood cinematographer Hari Nair cranks the camera while Ranganathan Ravee from Kollywood has done the audiography. ‘Shutter’ features three songs including the one tuned by Shahabas Aman based on a poem by Nobel laureate Pablo Neruda.
