Siblings getting into tinsel town is not a new trend and it has definitely seen a rise. The latest in filmdom 'nepotism’ was Kajal Aggarwal’s sister Nisha Aggarwal but now it is Tanushree Dutta's sister, Ishita Dutta.
Ishita, who started her filmy career with 'Chanakyudu' in Tollywood has signed her first Kannada film, 'Yenidu Manasali' directed by Shrikanth HR and produced by Niyaaz Ahmed. Like every newcomer who is entering the spotlight, Ishita took up the project because of the script.
“I read the script and I liked my character and the whole setup. That’s why I signed the project,” she says. Her sister, Tanushree Dutta has also entered the project but much later, says Ishita. “Initially I was offered this role and was in the process of shooting and then my sister Tanushree was offered another character, which she accepted. It made things more interesting because I will be working with my sister,” says Ishita, who will start shooting for Yenidu... sometime in August.
“The filmmakers have completed some schedules and they are now left with shooting just our portions,” she adds.
Considering that the current trend among most newcomers is to start with Southern languages before hitting B-Town, Ishita says that she is just signing films offered to her. “ I am now just two films old with one Telugu and Kannada film. I would want to work in Tamil and Malayalam too. I am not getting into much detail in terms of which language the offer is coming from because being a newcomer, every movie I do now will offer me a different experience,” she clarifies.
Unlike her sister, Tanushree, Ishita did not get into modelling. But then, Tanushree’s career in the film world did not go easy. She was branded as one of controversy’s child after she accused Nana Patekar of misbehaving and was almost blacklisted from the industry. Now that Ishita has entered the industry, she is still sure to take necessary advice from her sister. “I am very lucky to have my sister, who is already aware of the pros and cons of the industry. I have seen her growing here, which is actually helping my career. Though it is purely my decision on the projects I pick up, she advises me on how to handle the people in the industry,” says Ishita, who is yet to get her hands into B-Town. “Now that I am getting to know the industry better, I will get into the track of signing a Bollywood project soon,” she signs off.
